Bedtime Routine

My favorite part of the day is when we start your bedtime routine. I get your pajamas, make your bottle, pick out a book, get your lotion and new diaper ready. Your dad gets the bath ready. I get you naked and take you in there. I hold you in the water so you do not slide in and your daddy does all the washing and scrubbing. You watch him and give him your biggest smiles you have. You two have this bond that I cannot explain. After the bath, your dad and I alternate turns on reading you a bedtime story and feeding you a bedtime bottle. When it is your dad's turn I am never far away. Sometimes I stand discreetly around the corner and listen to your story as your dad reads. As I stand there I listen to everything he tells you. It just hits me in such a deep special way to listen to him explain the pictures to you and ask you questions even though we all know you cannot answer yet. It is moments like this that make me take the time to reflect on what an amazing dad he is.

Your First St. Patrick's Day

Your first St. Patrick's Day. We really did not do anything fantastic. It was rainy and cold. We had tickets to attend the downtown St. Patrick's Day festival. Before we went, we took you over to my friend Allison's house. All of my friends are obsessed with you. They love any opportunity where they can hang out with you. They took tons of pictures with you in your cute little "My First St. Patrick's Day" onesie. After we left Allison's to go downtown we dropped you off at your grandma and grandpa's house so we you were not in the rain all night. The said you were so good, like always!

Two Month Old

Two months old! Goodness gracious. You are growing like a little weed, but I am so excited to get to know more. You become more and more fun each day! You smile more often now. You still don't think anything is funny but if I say your name funny then I can usually conjure out a little smile! I do feel like you are going to laugh out loud any day now. When you are smiling you will open you mouth wide and a little squeak comes flying out! You are getting so close and I cannot wait to hear you laugh for the first time.

You have become really good at grabbing hair. Although it is not really considered grabbing anymore. We call it the death grip. When you grab someone's hair you are not letting go and usually you take a chunk with you in your hand! They never see it coming. You are sneaky like that.

You blow spit bubbles all the time. Which is something new.
You like to listen to me sing. We had one rough night this month. You would not go to sing. You would stop screaming only if I would sing to you. So I just played my iPod on low and sand to you almost all night. I think your daddy liked it too because he was knocked out the whole night. You also love when I sing your "name song."

(In the tune of farahshocka)

You hate bedtime now. We knew the day would come. You are becoming really good at fighting your slept. The doctor gave us really good advice and we try to stick with it but sometimes it's really hard to get let you cry! Slowly but surely, we are getting there.

Right now your daddy likes to call you pumpkin but it comes out more punkin!
And I call you little sweet pea but it comes out more like widdle 'weet pea!

You are so much fun. We can't wait to hear you laugh and talk. Your little smile is wonderful! I just want to take pictures of you all day!
